Surekha Sikri: Veteran actor Surekha Sikri has died at the age of 75 of a cardiac arrest.
The actor was sick for some time and had suffered a paralytic stroke earlier in 2018 and a brain stroke in 2020. In a statement shared with the media, her agent Vivek Sidhwani said, ”Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest.
She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by family and her caregivers.

Om Sai Ram. ”Sikri made her acting debut with the 1978 film Kissa Kursi Ka and went on to play supporting roles in numerous Hindi and Malayalam films, as well as in Indian TV serials. Sikri was best known for her Performances in ”Tamas” & ”Zubeidaa” and daily soap ”Balika Vadhu”.
She received widespread praise for her role as a grandmother in Ayushmann Khurrana Starrer ”Badhaai Ho”(2018).
She was a recipient of three National Film Awards.
Sikri was last seen in Netflix’s ”Ghost Stories”, directed by Zoya Akhtar. Sikri is survived by her son Rahul Sikri.
