Exchange Sweets

Exchange Sweets: Yesterday 21 July was Eid – ala – Adha an auspicious day for Muslims around the world.

In order to celebrate Bakri Eid, the Border Security Force(BSF) who is responsible for guarding the India Pakistan border exchanged sweets with the Pakistan army.

Sweets and pleasantries were exchanged at multiple points on the border. It was done in the Poonch District, North Kashmir, etc.

While exchanging sweets, best wishes of peace & harmony were also conveyed. They also posed for pictures, which have gone viral on social media.

The gesture was appreciated by both armies and is expected to further promote goodwill and mutual trust.

This is the first time that both armies are exchanging sweets since the 2019 Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.

There has been no firing at the border for a long time.

This is why farmers on both sides of the border have been able to carry out their farming activities peacefully.
Even though there is less firing, in the last month, there has been increased drone activity, including the June 27 attack on the Indian Air Force station in Jammu & Kashmir.
